Welcome to The Veterans Appreciation Fishing Tournament!

The Veterans Appreciation Fishing Tournament is exactly what the name implies, a fishing tournament and day of boating held in honor of the men and woman who have served our country. The Veterans Appreciation Fishing Tournament is our way of giving back to those that have given.

Captains and volunteers from all of the state have offered up their boats, gear, time and talent to take Veterans out for a day on the water. The 2011 event will take place on Saturday, July 30th at Port Harbor Marine in South Portland. The 2009 inaugural event and 2010 event were a huge success as over 100 vets from representing each military branch enjoyed a day of fishing and boating fun.

This year’s event will again feature a day long fishing tournament through which veterans are given the opportunity to fish inshore or offshore, take in a harbor cruise or just come down for a cookout featuring their catch! During the cookout trophies will be awarded to the veterans with the best catches of the day. Port Harbor Marine has already recruited more than 20 people to volunteer their time and boats so far. Boaters from other marinas are welcome to sign up as captains, volunteering their time, tackle, boat, fuel and fishing expertise.

THANK YOU!! To Our 2010 Event Sponsors
